The First Weekend of Spring

Friday we took Trey for his first fishing trip. I know Travis has been looking forward to that day since they told us at our ultrasound appointment that we were having a BOY!! It was a perfectly beautiful day. Trey (technically Travis) caught 2 small blue gill. Trey held the fish and just grinned ear to ear. He loved being near the water, throwing rocks and playing with his fishing rod. I know this is the first of many many many fishing trips for our family and that brings a smile to my face.

Faith

Last night I was playing cards online. I happen to be playing with a very chatty lady from Spain. She asked me the usual questions. Kids? Married? Where did I meet my husband? I answered that I met Travis at church and that started a conversation about religion. She shared that she had been raised Catholic but she was not interested in religion anymore. We chatted a while and I ended up sharing with her about Reinhard Bonnke speaking at church on Sunday. I told her about his crusades in Africa and how many souls had been saved. She immediately did not believe me and wanted to know how much money I had given.

Her response has me thinking. As you know, I am a very skeptical person but I am not at all skeptical of the number of souls Reinhard Bonnke reports have been saved. Why is that? I have come up with a couple reasons. 1. I trust my pastor. 2. I have been brought up to believe God can do anything.

So today I am thankful for a pastor that I can trust and that I have faith in my God to do anything. Exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think. So with a thankful heart I am asking for the soul of that lady in Spain to be saved. I planted a seed and God can bring the increase. I pray that she is thinking on our conversation today as I have been, that her curiosity will out weigh the skepticism, that she will find Reinhard Bonnke on youtube as I suggested, that she will hear the Word of the Lord and be saved. I believe my God that is able to save millions in Africa can reach down and save one lady in Spain.

My first post

I am stepping out and doing something I have never done before. Travis has a blog and my aunt has always kept a journal. I have never been a writer or even been good at expressing my thoughts verbally. Now is as good a time as ever to start something new. I will endeavor to keep track of Trey's development, good books I am reading, new recipes, family events and new pictures here on my blog. Wish me luck!!!
